The Chamber: Architects of a New Tomorrow
You and your Chamber play a critical role shaping your community. This year’s conference will give you the inspiration and tools to build a better community, a better Chamber, and provide insights on how you can personally excel. Our conference committee, led by Deborah Scott of the Newmarket Chamber, has been busy developing a program that you will not want to miss, with keynote speakers preparing your Chamber to be the architect of a new tomorrow.
Plan to arrive Thursday afternoon so you don’t miss a thing. This year’s program highlights include:
o Masters or Victims: You, Your Chamber and Your Community- Leadership, community development and making a difference
o Success Leaves Clues: How Great Chambers Got That Way
§ Kyle Sexton – 2 presentations – keynote and workshop covering
o Small Chamber/Big Marketing
o Social media reboot
§ Mick Fleming, CEO ACCE - Deathbed Confessions – the mistakes to avoid and traits to emulate in your Chamber career
§ Linda Edgecombe - Holy Crap Am I Busy! Changing our Culture from Chaos to Calm
§ Framing the Future – Kelowna’s expert panel on civic engagement, collaboration and economic development
We’re excited to have Citslinc returning as our event sponsor, to introduce and update you on a popular revenue generating opportunity for your Chamber. And thanks to Johnston Group and Chambers of Commerce Group Benefit Program (sponsors our Friday night Awards Dinner), and TD (who will play host at our opening reception).
Lots of chance for formal and informal networking with Best Ideas, small table discussions, and peer networking dinners where you can get out on the town in beautiful Kelowna. When you register, it would be appreciated if you would select a restaurant for Thursday night and note any meals that you are NOT planning to attend. This allows us to keep our costs in check.
Speaking of costs, if budget is an issue, you may be interested in CCEC’s bursary program. (CCEC will make up to $1000 available to attend the conference – see attached)
Room blocks have been reserved at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort & Conference Centre. (see CCC website for details at http://www.chamber.ca/index.php/en/upcoming-events/C293/)
