- Pres Duane - Canada Post issues - G Henry says mostly union positioning. Do we wish to formulate position on this?
- Town Councillor Brian - seeking input on Business Licenses. Who needs one? 16 years students, small or part-time businesses (skate sharpening) that only make a few hundred dollars, Tupperware, Scentsy, etc. The town is trying to make up a policy for who needs one and would like the Chambers views on the matter.

Minutes:
Chamber Meeting held Noon-1pm Fri 29 May 2015 at Susan's Place
- Attending:Pres D Thomson, VP A Bennett, Sec R Davies, Town Councillor B Oliver, Treas J Moore, R Moore, B Jackson
- Minutes discussed and accepted per prior email/website distribution. Moved by B Oliver - all ok
- Items arising from minutes: Town Grant re Trail System discussed further. D Thomson reports scope of signage project is increasing to accommodate standards from Mormon Trail group and suggestions from Museum. More meetings next Tue and later in Jun.
- Discussed recent mail out re Canada Post and local post office closures. D Thompson reported discussion with G Henry (Sec of local union and local rep) as S Gaff postmistress on holiday. Mr Henry suggests no action required. This mail out originated from national level and was an attempt to generate public outcry for bargaining leverage. Several issues also raised with recent local service reductions and red tape restrictions - unaddressed mail re removal of garbage can (vs just bringing it in at night) - as a result many more boxes now refuse extra mail - bad for Canada Post revenues and bad for any business paying to try to send out mail, id required every time even when well known and with card just taken from box (if it fit in box it would not require any id - what do they do with supermail boxes? certainly not check id), returning mail arbitrarily and unnecessarily, increased costs and reduced customer service, etc . Chamber may wish to send a letter at latter date after more information collected.
- Business Licence for town discussed next. B Oliver looking for input to town council. Consensus that student and part time businesses probably do not need licencing - overhead to town onerous and unneeded. Suggestion that if business is taxed federally then it should need local business licence. Many grey issues - eg other municipalities require licences to 'do business' in their local. Should we require the same in attempt to protect citizens or would we be doing disservice to community?by restricting who they can do business with. It is not seen as much of a 'money maker' but more of a 'protection' service. Members asked to consider these issues for next meeting.
- No new events proposed for the summer. Next meeting set for Thu 18 Jun 2015. 1pm Motion to adjourn - all ok.
