- Notice: The chamber elections are to be held *21 Oct 2013.
Nomination deadline proposed for *23 Sep 2013.
- Also discussed date and time for proposed Chamber Sponsored Business Development Meeting at Town Hall.
Decided to defer to a later date.

Subject: Brainstorming points from May 9th Chamber Meeting
- What is the role of Town Council in developing a community economic plan?
- How do we ensure this community economic plan stays forefront and does not get pushed aside.
- How/when will business license bylaws be enforced, protect public safety, and business practices.
- How would you hold town council accountable for enforcing fiscal accountability.
- How can we create stronger communication between town employees and the direction of the chamber.
- What is town council going to do in leading the campaign to shop local.
- Can there be an "understanding" that if the town is writing the cheque then local should be a "policy".
- our belief, you must put something in to get something out. - Would like town tenders to be on the website.
- Why so much "in-camera"? We expect more transparency. More above board, we think this will increase with greater communication skills.
- Our belief is that greater transparency would lead to stronger and more accurate communications.
- How did the "seniors housing" project compete against local private developers?
- Talked about idea of possibly video taping this candidate forum, might help in following through on ideas and promises?
- Richard asked for thoughts on holding the Chamber Trade Show bi-annually (every other year).
- Shannon brought forward some comments on Canadian Badlands AGM 2 day meeting held in Medicine Hat. It will be held in Lethbridge next year and it was suggested that as many chamber members attend as possible.
- Proposed we prepare for a chamber sponsored 'candidate forum' to be held late September.

- Chamber Sponsored Business Development Meeting *deferred* at Town Hall. Public Meeting - open to all interested parties.
- Request submission of issues for discussion: (a) how to attract more Doctors to Magrath, (b) availability of suitable property for business development/business park, (c) business tax/fee issues, (d) enforcement of licence/permits, etc. What are your issues? - Report on 2013 Trade Show
- great response booking booths and tables - weather started great and power stayed on to almost 3:30 ..
- booked 12 tables and 30 booths and Melissa organized entertainment for the event.
- magnetic signs were great idea. website worked well with few complaints. discuss issue of refunds. about 1/3 of vendors paid us online.
- could use more help in booking, setup, and cleanup next year.
- suggestions for next year: set up all-booths, investigate internet options (for secure payments), repeater for cell phone coverage.. - Review committee assignments 2013
